// Four Proposal Types
Everything a community needs to decide — formally.
Any member can propose a spend from the DAO treasury. Includes purpose, amount, recipient, milestone structure, and escrow conditions. Approved funds lock into a Solana escrow program pending delivery.
e.g. "Request 500 USDC to redesign the community website" — with deliverables and payment tranches
Proposals to alter DAO parameters: quorum threshold, membership tier structure, Baraza AI agent behaviour, fee rates, or treasury management rules. The most powerful vote — changes the rules of the game.
e.g. "Reduce quorum from 30% to 20% to increase participation velocity"
Spin up a new DAO initiative — a product, programme, event, or working group. Allocates budget, assigns a lead, and creates a public accountability thread on-chain. Automatically posts to the Marketplace.
e.g. "Launch DAO Carnival Kenya 2025 — budget 2,000 USDC, lead: @amara"
A non-binding, off-chain directional vote to gauge community sentiment before committing resources. Low quorum. Fast. Used for temperature checks before drafting binding proposals.
e.g. "Should we open a second membership tier at KES 2,000?" — 72-hour vote, no binding effect
// The Voting Process
From proposal to execution.
Automatically.
// Voting Weight Formula
Merit earns influence. Time earns trust.
Your voting weight is determined by two factors: your NFT membership tier (which you earned or purchased) and your tenure multiplier (how long you've been an active member). This prevents plutocracy while rewarding commitment.
// Baraza AI — Governance Assistant
Not a chatbot. The DAO's operational brain.
Powered by Claude (Anthropic). Every DAO gets its own dedicated AI instance. Parameters governed by the DAO's own votes — not by Anthropic, not by us.
Proposal Summarisation
Converts long-form proposals into 3-sentence executive summaries for voters who lack time to read full text.
Discussion Monitoring
Tracks community sentiment in real-time during the discussion period. Flags misinformation, highlights expert opinions.
Anomaly Detection
Alerts the DAO if voting patterns suggest coordinated manipulation, Sybil attacks, or unusual wallet clusters.
Health Reporting
Weekly DAO health reports: voter participation rate, treasury balance, pending proposals, Growth Score trend.
Marketplace Judging
Scores bounty submissions on 5 dimensions — all decisions logged to IPFS with hash written on-chain for transparency.
Parameter Governance
The AI's own behaviour parameters are set by governance vote. The community decides how their AI operates.
All AI decisions are logged to IPFS. The content hash is written on-chain at every decision point — creating a permanent, tamper-proof audit trail of AI governance activity.
